Rathaus Leipzig

Commercial Project, 2019

The city of Leipzig asked me to design and illustrate an 26-page magazine for children about the city and its history.

01 — The Magazine

The content was provided by a group of twelve-year-old children, who also functioned as art-directors — a tough crowd to please! During two workshops with the group I developed the lead characters, ghost »Flipsi« and bat »Frida«, who guide the reader through the magazine.

Take a look at the content below:

02 — Flipsi welcomes the readers.
03 – A colouring picture of the old city hall
04 – Facts about the construction of the new city hall
05 — A puzzlehunt through the city hall. Children can win a poster of the wimmle picture from the magazine
06 — Spotlight: The great tower of city hall
07 — The city hall’s paternoster, with some of Leipzig’s records
08 — A wimmle picture, showing everything that goes on in this busy buidling
09 — Some riddles
10 — The »Wandelhalle«
11 — The senior mayor of Leipzig
12 — City Council and facts about the political process.
13 — Possibilites of participation for children
14 — Imprint
15 — Cover
16 — Backcover
