HAW Hamburg (University of Applied Sciences) is launching »RepOS-it« – an open science repository to publish original research papers and data under open access. They asked me to create a comprehensive icon set for their website and user interface. I developed the visual style and in the end, I drew over 60 icons.

To make sure the icons were pixel-perfect I drew them in three sizes with different stroke-widths and varying levels of detail

More complex icons, including the building of the HAW
Sometimes variants of the same icon were needed to display different actions and states
A behind-the-scenes look at the grid I used to make sure all icons are visually balanced, no matter their shape
