Botanical Illustrations

Botanical illustration — the art of depicting the form, color, and details of plants — is one of my favorite subjects.

The discipline has such a rich and interesting history, always striking a balance between scientific accuracy and artistic expression. I really love working with watercolor, which is the most frequently used medium for botanical illustration, even though other techniques offer great opportunities too!
