»Wildwuchs Hamburg« — published by Junius Verlag

This non-fiction book for children aged seven and over invites little city dwellers to walk through Hamburg with their eyes open, explore unknown corners of their city and learn a lot of new things about plants.

They are accompanied by the main character Henri, who explains plants in various categories to the little readers in a child-friendly way, from plants in parks and along Hamburg waterways to garden plants and weeds to balcony and house plants.

The book shows the selected plants in detailed watercolor illustrations both as a close-up and in their natural habitat at various locations in Hamburg.

In addition to explanatory texts on two text levels, which introduce younger children from the age of seven as well as slightly older children from the age of ten to the topics of urban nature, it also contains numerous action pages with recipes, craft ideas and infographics.

Wild Growth Hamburg presents basic botanical knowledge in an age-appropriate, descriptive manner and, through the framework story told by Henri, with a lot of playful learning and identification potential.
