After a first day of arrival on Wednesday, when Christoph and I moved into our Airbnb and went shopping for groceries, we had our first real working day in Athens the next day. Since we both also work from home in Hamburg, the move from our desks in Hamburg to our Airbnb in Greece was not particularly difficult for us.

On Thursday afternoon I was done with my client projects for the day and walked into town for the first time. The destination was a super nice coffee shop that I had found while researching cafés in Athens on the Internet.

Located in the affluent district of Kolonaki, Philos Café is a restaurant, café and concept store all in one. The highly instagrammable building is a renovated urban mansion that looks elegant and rustic at the same time. Here the rough concrete walls and vintage floor tiles are combined with filigree wooden furniture, glass tables and many large plants, which makes the shabby chic look perfect.

I took out my sketchbook for the first time in Athens over a cappuccino and sketched there for a while. Even if the prices are a bit higher for Athens, a visit to the Philos Café is definitely worth it.
