We had taken two weeks of vacation and were traveling in Guatemala. Starting from our home base in Guatemala, the city of Antigua, we took a bus and drove a few hours west to Lake Àtitlan. Lake Àtitlan is a beautifully situated lake surrounded by volcanoes. Apart from beautiful walks around the truly stunning lake, there isn't that much to do in the villages around the lake though. So after a few days at Lake Àtitlan, we set off on our next little adventure and decided to take a day trip to the city of Chichicastenango.
