Teotihuacán
Tuesday, October 17
Close to Mexico City there’s the archeological site of “Teotihuacán”. This ancient Mesoamerican city is located about 45 km northeast of Mexico City. This place is known for its many Mesoamerican pyramids and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From Mexico City, Teotihuacán can be easily reached by bus in just one hour.

A bit hidden behind the pyramids, there is also a small museum on site where stone reliefs of the pyramids, smaller finds from the area and a model of the city of Teotihuacán are exhibited.
Taquería Miranda

On our first day in Mexico City, while looking for a supermarket, we came across a large and busy taco stand. The stall was on a small side street near our apartment and judging by the looks on people's faces, tourists didn't usually wander there.
Chocolatería La Rifa

In Mexico you’ll find not only very good savory food, but also extremely good cacao, chocolate and the best hot chocolate/cocoa I have ever tasted. What surprised me most was that in Mexico, hot chocolate is traditionally prepared with water and not with milk.
Quesabirria

One of the (many) reasons we loved Mexico City so much was certainly the delicious Mexican food. It wasn’t just the taste itself that impressed us, but also the number of street stalls in the city. No matter what time of day, you could always find a place where you could buy freshly baked corn tortillas with long-braised meat or spicy stews. Add a squeeze of lime and the sauces (“salsas”) made by each stand and you have the perfect breakfast, lunch or dinner.
