Street signs
Tuesday, March 26
We lived in the Palermo district of Buenos Aires. The district is known for being particularly safe and modern and is popular among both locals and tourists with its many cafés, restaurants, and bars.
On our very first day in Buenos Aires, we strolled through the streets and explored the area. The sun was shining, there were beautiful buildings everywhere, and we saw countless cafés and restaurants that we wanted to try. The Palermo district is very green, with large trees and plants everywhere. What particularly caught our eye, however, were the striking black street signs. With their black color and simple lettering, we thought they were the best-designed street signs we had ever seen. Overall, we really liked Buenos Aires, and especially the Palermo district. Since our apartment at a really good location, we could still enjoy a leisurely coffee late in the afternoon after work, have a drink in a bar, or spontaneously go to a restaurant for dinner without having to walk far. The density of really good cafés, bakeries, bars, and restaurants in Palermo was higher than we had ever seen in any other city. During our weeks in Buenos Aires, we spent a lot of time exploring the city and checking out many of the cafes, restaurants, and bars—but we still didn't have enough time in this cool city. Although we don't have another trip to Buenos Aires planned anytime soon, we have a whole list of cafes, bars, and restaurants we definitely want to visit next time (whenever that may be)!
