Candela Bar

On our first evening in Granada, when we were handed over the keys to our Airbnb, we met the hosts of our amazing Airbnb who then spontaneously invited us on a tour through the city. We ended up in a few different bars and had drinks ans tapas with our Hosts. Our favorite bar that night was the popular “Candela” bar.

The bar is basically just one very small room, half of which is taken up by the bar counter alone. Behind the counter, the bartenders are busy filling one wine glass after another and preparing their famous tuna salad tapas. Like everywhere in Andalusia, the Candela Bar also serves free tapas with every drink that you order.

Although there are endless bars in Granada, the Candela Bar seems to be particularly popular. Every evening the bar is packed with people who are meeting their friends, enjoying the drinks and nibbling on the delicious tapas.

If there is really no space left inside the bar, you just get yourself a drink at the counter and meet your friends outside of the bar on the street. With the warm temperatures in Andalusia you won’t feel cold, not even during winter.
