Pomegranate Bollard

The pomegranate is the symbol of the city of Granada and can even be found on the city’s coat of arms. No matter where you are in Granada, sooner or later you will come across the pomegranate symbol everywhere.

It is particularly common to see pomegranates painted on cups, bowls and plates here. Whether in a restaurant or in souvenir shops: the pomegranate is a popular decoration on ceramics. I also spotted pomegranates painted as small symbols on street signs or house facades. However, the funniest use of the pomegranate symbol for me was the metal pomegranate bollards. These bollards can be found throughout the city and show once again how important pomegranates must be for the city and its residents!
