Jardín Botánico
Monday, April 1
A very special place in Buenos Aires is the Jardín Botánico, the city's botanical garden. The garden is freely accessible and is perfect for strolling among the many plants.
When we lived in Buenos Aires for a few weeks in April, the weather was wonderfully sunny and warm. However, the city was also plagued by a dengue mosquito plague at that time. The dengue mosquitoes were everywhere, attacking you as soon as you left the house and even biting us through our long jeans. Therefore, we constantly sprayed ourselves with insect repellent, which didn't help for long, but at least for the first few minutes.
It was no different in the botanical garden. We strolled through the grounds, which, wherever you looked, were covered with the most beautiful and magnificent plants. Although we were constantly bitten by mosquitoes, we still enjoyed admiring the huge palm trees, trees, bushes, and especially the incredibly large monstera plants. On many plants in the botanical garden, we even saw hummingbirds fluttering from one flower to the next. Although the botanical garden is located in the heart of Buenos Aires, the hustle and bustle of the city is largely forgotten once you're inside. It's the perfect green oasis for a little relaxation, reading, or simply enjoying nature.
